CHALLENGE #3: What time IS it????

Hey guys! I am here! Make sure you check our post everynight and you can go back and answer old challenges too.

So here's challenge #3: I arrived in Tokyo at 5:00 PM Tokyo time....what time would that have been in good old Port St. Lucie, Florida? Good luck with that one and don't forget...EMAIL ANSWERS TO mitchellh@stlucie.k12.fl.us.

Now here are some pictures! When I got here, we had charter buses waiting to meet us, and it took about an hour to get to the hotel. The hotel is BEAUTIFUL! It is surrounded by gardens and waterfalls that I will post some pictures of later because it was dark when we arrived.

As soon as we got here, we dropped our luggage and were separated into small groups of 4 or 5 and a volunteer that leaves here in Japan took us to dinner. We were so LUCKY! Our volunteer, "Ohno," took us to Ginza. Ginza is probably what most of us see on TV. It looks just like Times Square in New York City, except BIGGERRRRRR!

To get to the restaurant, we first rode the subway and I was surprised at how clean it was. I think we rode it during "rush hour." We were packed in like sardines! Once we got to our stop, Ohno took us to a restaurant that was actually inside a department store. The first floor of the store was so different...there were all sorts of small counters of the prettiest desserts, trinkets, and accessories. We went up a few floors and into a hallway with a restaurant that I couldn't find again if my life depended on it! We had our own private little room. Ohno ordered everything for us and it was delicious! No sushi yet...it was all tempura, but with some very different things than what I've had in the states. The best thing I liked was the little fried fish..it was tiny- maybe about 3 inches long. We put ground up turnips into soy sauce and then topped the fish with a plum mixture. I was expecting it to be sweet, but it tasted more like saurkraute. It was so good! We had about 6 different items, and they were all delicious.

Tomorrow we get to go sightseeing! I can't wait to tell you guys more and miss you! Be goooood and write write write!
