Helloooo...it's Thursday night here which means you guys are just probably getting out of bed Thursday morning. We are 13 hours ahead of you.
First...a real quick congratulations to SERGIO, SARAH, AND KASEY!!! They have all earned at least one chance for some strange and interesting souvenirs I have picked up. Sergio is the first person to get all of the challenges so far...FANTASTIC!
Now for today's adventures! This morning was unbelievably cool! I got to go with a group of people to see the world's largest fish market. They even have an auction for tuna, which if you haven't seen a tuna....they are HUMONGOUS! Most of the tuna I saw were about the size of the table in the back of our room. There was every type of fish you could imagine! http://60minutes.yahoo.com/segment/136/sushi If you click on this link, there are some video clips from 60 minutes that give you a better idea of how much these big fish are worth and how overfishing might be hurting their populations. Check it out!
I got to eat breakfast on the 40th floor of our hotel and learned that we look at a very special mountain from our hotel and was then very surprised when I returned to my room for a perfect view!
Most of the day today was lectures. We got to hear from a university vice president about education in Japan and also from a Diet member (which will make sense to a few of you who figured out one of the earlier challenges hehe!). Lastly, they gave us two fabulous books by a Japanese author of fairy tales. I can't wait to share them with you...their pictures are wonderful.
Finally, a group of us decided to go for a trip to the 100 Yen store which is much like our dollar stores. I found some great goodies! With all the great food around us, somehow we ended up at McDonald's because it was getting so late LOL.
Have a great Thursday! :0)

LOL Stuart...there are actually McDonald's pretty much everywhere. They have picture menus to choose from and I actually messed my order up...duhhhh. I had no fries lol. The other store that is on practically every block is 7-11...and i do have to say "Thank Heaven" lol. I can't find any real diet cokes and they have the closest thing to it, plus they have an ATM. It's harder than you'd think to get money in this place! Thanks for keeping up Stuart!

Hey, how's your $ situation holding out? Glad there's McD's and dollar stores! Buy me something! (Even if it's just a key chain.)
